If it’s not obvious, we love this wine and if your somewhere beyond a bottle of 3 buck chuck, but not quite to a “insert fancy winery here” $200 bottle of something you can’t pronounce, this wine is for you. Mr. Neufeld is as good of a wine maker as we’ve met and, to date, this is the best wine we’ve had from his collection. We look forward to it every year and, after trying it, I suspect you will too!

While I wouldn’t consider myself a full blown oenophile (Don’t worry, I had to look it up too!), my better half and myself have tasted a lot of wine. The Cab Sauv options in the Yakima Valley are both plentiful and, increasingly, delicious. I had heard rumors of the depth and beauty of Old Goat and after finally procuring a bottle, found it to be one of, if not the, best wines I’ve ever tasted. Smooth, deep, and while not overly complex, it had enough going on to keep us interested- a lot like a first date where you find the person opposite you enjoys theater, but not the pretentious type. This wine is downright wonderful! It’s the wine you drink when you’re seeing a good friend for the first time in a while, the type you give to your significant others parents the first time you meet them, the bottle you open on an anniversary or the first time you kid sleeps through the night. The bottle that invites a second look and the one you remember the next time you’re looking for a what to bring to a dinner party.
